Huayna Picchu is the iconic mountain peak overlooking the ancient Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, located in the Cusco Region of southeastern Peru. The entrance to the trail begins near the Sacred Rock within the Machu Picchu archaeological site.

To reach Huayna Picchu, visitors must first arrive at Machu Picchu. The most common routes include:
- From Cusco: Take a train to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo), followed by a bus or a steep hike up to Machu Picchu's main entrance.
- Inca Trail: A multi-day trek ending at Machu Picchu, though separate permits are required for Huayna Picchu.
Once inside Machu Picchu, follow signs to the Huayna Picchu trailhead near the Sacred Rock.

Access to Huayna Picchu is limited to two daily entry slots:
- First group: 7:00 AM - 8:00 AM
- Second group: 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM
Tickets must be purchased in advance through the official Machu Picchu website, as they often sell out weeks ahead. Prices vary by nationality (higher for international visitors; discounts for Peruvian residents). The ticket includes access to both Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu.

The dry season (May–October) offers clearer skies and safer hiking conditions. Early morning slots provide cooler temperatures and fewer crowds, while late morning may have better light for photography. Note that afternoon entry is not permitted due to safety concerns.

The hike typically takes 1.5–2 hours to ascend and 1 hour to descend, with an additional 30–60 minutes to explore the summit ruins. Allow 3–4 hours total, including time at Machu Picchu before or after.

Installations
