La Junta is a remote settlement in the heart of Valle del Cochamó, approximately 120 kilometers southeast of Puerto Montt in Southern Chile. The area is accessible via a combination of road and trekking routes. From Puerto Montt, take a bus or drive to the village of Cochamó (about 2 hours), then continue to the trailhead at Río Cochamó. The final stretch to La Junta requires a 12-kilometer hike (4–6 hours) through dense forests and river crossings.
