Parc national de Cahuita
Cahuita National Park is a picturesque coastal park located in the Limón province of Costa Rica. The park encompasses both land and sea, featuring pristine white-sand beaches, lush rainforests, and vibrant coral reefs. Situation et moyens d'accès
Cahuita National Park is situated on the southern Caribbean coast of Costa Rica, approximately 43 kilometers south of Puerto Limón. The park has two main entrances: one near the town of Cahuita and another at Puerto Vargas.
- From Puerto Limón: Take the coastal highway (Route 36) south toward Cahuita. The drive takes about 45 minutes by car or taxi. Public buses also run regularly from Limón to Cahuita.
- From San José: The journey takes around 4 hours by car via Route 32 to Limón, then south on Route 36. Direct buses are available from San José to Cahuita.

The park is open daily from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. There is no official entrance fee, but donations are encouraged to support conservation efforts (suggested $5 USD per person). Tickets or reservations are not required.

Early mornings are ideal for wildlife spotting and avoiding the midday heat. The dry season (February to April) offers clearer trails, while the green season (May to November) brings lush vegetation and fewer crowds.

A leisurely hike through the park’s main trails takes 2–4 hours, depending on pace and stops for swimming or wildlife observation.
