Volcán Barú National Park is situated in western Panama, near the town of Frutillar. The park encompasses the towering Volcán Barú, the highest peak in Panama at 3,474 meters. The main entrance is accessible via the town of Boquete, approximately 30 kilometers from Frutillar.

  • By Car: From Frutillar, take the road toward Boquete, then follow signs to the park entrance. A 4x4 vehicle is recommended for the rugged terrain.
  • By Public Transport: Buses run from David to Boquete; from there, taxis or guided tours can take you to the park.
