Situation et moyens d'accès

The Cahuita Coral Reef is situated within Cahuita National Park, on the southern Caribbean coast of Costa Rica, near the town of Cahuita. The park entrance is approximately 43 kilometers south of Puerto Limón. From Puerto Limón, visitors can reach the reef by car or bus via Route 36, followed by a short detour to Cahuita. Buses run regularly from Limón to Cahuita, with a travel time of about 1 hour.

The park is open daily from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. There is no official entrance fee, but donations are encouraged to support conservation efforts (suggested donation: $5 USD per person). Tickets or reservations are not required.

The reef is best explored during the dry season (February to April and September to October), when visibility for snorkeling is optimal. Early mornings are ideal to avoid crowds and enjoy calmer waters.
