Emplacement et comment s'y rendre

Valle Chacabuco is situated in southern Chile, approximately 60 kilometers southeast of the town of Cochrane in the Aysén Region. The valley is part of the Patagonia Park network, a conservation area managed by Tompkins Conservation. The nearest major hub is Coyhaique, about 330 kilometers north of Cochrane.

  • By Car: From Cochrane, take Route 7 (Carretera Austral) southbound, then follow the well-marked gravel road toward Valle Chacabuco. The drive takes roughly 1.5 hours, depending on road conditions.
  • Public Transport: Limited options exist; occasional buses or shared taxis run from Cochrane, but renting a vehicle is recommended for flexibility.

Heures d'ouverture et billets

The park is generally open year-round, but access may be restricted during winter months (June–August) due to weather conditions. Visitor centers or specific trails might have seasonal hours.

  • Entrance Fees: Free admission, though donations to support conservation efforts are encouraged.
  • Tickets: No advance booking required; check the official website for updates on seasonal closures.
