Histoire

Baracoa, located in the Guantánamo Province of Cuba, is one of the oldest settlements in the country and holds a significant place in Cuban history. Founded in 1511 by Spanish conquistador Diego Velázquez de Cuéllar, it was the first Spanish settlement on the island and served as the original capital of Cuba until 1515. Known as the "First City" of Cuba, Baracoa is nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and the lush mountains of the Sierra del Purial, offering a unique blend of natural beauty and historical significance.
