Mirador de las vueltas – Santa Cruz Province – Argentina

There it was—another iconic view of Mount Fitz Roy, bathed in the soft glow of twilight. Fresh off my last Patagonia trip, I couldn’t resist extending my stay in El Chaltén for one more month. The mountains had a way of pulling me back, and this time, I was determined to capture something extraordinary.

I bought a bicycle just for this shot—crazy, right? But that’s the thing about photography: it demands passion, patience, and a touch of madness. Who else would brave the freezing night, waiting 30 minutes for a lone car to streak through the frame, its headlights painting the road with golden trails? It’s those fleeting, unpredictable moments that make the grind worth it, even standing there in the cold. This was the magic I chased—the blend of planning and serendipity, where patience and obsession collide to create something unforgettable.

About El Chaltén

Nestled in the rugged embrace of Southern Patagonia, El Chaltén is Argentina’s trekking capital, a windswept haven where granite spires pierce the sky. This frontier town, framed by the iconic Fitz Roy massif, offers untamed trails, glacial lakes, and a quiet charm—a refuge for adventurers and dreamers alike. Here, the wild whispers, and the mountains call.
