This is a 16-day Puna photography tour through the high-altitude landscapes of Argentina’s Andean Puna. Beginning in the city of Salta, we travel into Quebrada de Humahuaca to photograph the villages of Tilcara, Purmamarca, and Humahuaca, and watch sunset from the Hornocal lookout. The route then crosses Salinas Grandes to Tolar Grande, where the Desierto del Diablo, Cono de Arita, and Ojos de Mar provide the subjects for dawn and dusk photography.

For Altiplano photography, the pace is set by light. We rise for sunrise at Laguna Verde and Carachi Pampa, explore the surreal Campo de Piedra Pómez, and spend a night camping at Laguna Peinado with photo stops at Volcan Peinado. Farther south, we photograph Balcon de Pissis and Cañon del Indio, relax in the thermal springs of Fiambala, and finish in Cafayate with the red rock landscapes of Quebrada de las Conchas.
