Parrot clay lick
Early morning boat ride to a clay lick where hundreds of Mealy, Yellow-crowned and Blue-headed parrots jostle for space; later visit a second lick where Cobalt-winged parakeets feed alongside Scarlet Macaw and Orange-cheeked parrots.

Kuri Muyu cultural visit
Walk through terra firme rainforest to the Kuri Muyu Kichwa Interpretation Center, run by women of the Añangu community. Learn about Kichwa traditions, music, forest knowledge, and crafts, then continue to a second clay lick. The return along the creek adds further chances for bird and mammal sightings.

Amazon Canopy Tower Session Napo Wildlife Center
Walk to the 36-metre canopy tower built around a giant ceibo tree. From above the forest floor, search for tanagers, toucans, macaws, and monkeys moving through the canopy—one of the lodge’s best birding and photography opportunities.

Terra firme forest walk and lagoon canoeing – Amazon Forest Trail Birding (Napo Widlife Center)
Explore primary, non-flooded rainforest with a naturalist guide, looking for forest birds, lizards, and golden-mantled tamarins. Follow this with a paddle-canoe excursion on Lake Añangu and nearby creeks, where giant river otters may be encountered.

Terra firme and swamp-forest wildlife walk
Take a guided walk through contrasting rainforest habitats. This is a flexible wildlife-searching session, with possible sightings of capuchins, squirrel monkeys, golden-mantled tamarins, sloths, and a wide range of birds.

Anangu Lake and Creek Canoe Wildlife (Paddle canoe through forest creeks)
Explore deeper sections of the surrounding waterways by dugout canoe. The low-noise pace is especially rewarding for observing birds, monkeys, caimans, and other wildlife at the forest-water edge; it is also a peaceful final afternoon in the Amazon.

Napo Wildlife Center
Napo Wildlife Center is a luxury eco-lodge inside Yasuní National Park, run by the Añangu Kichwa community. The thatched main building holds a dining hall, library and bar, and the cabins have private bathrooms and 24-hour hot water. Meals, guided excursions and the 50-foot observation tower overlooking the lake are part of the experience, with Wi-Fi available when weather allows.

Our tour prices are based on a tiered pricing model. more guests = lower price, per person. That means the prices go down on a per-person basis as more people book onto a specific tour departure.

Colombia Photography Tour 2026
Top notch photographic experience for enthusiasts of nature, culture, and portraits. Tristan is well connected to the area and the local communities with a specialty in indigenous tribes and less-visited areas. Additionally, he is an excellent teacher and will provide incredibly helpful instruction on exposure, lighting, and composition. Our tour was incredibly well organized and ran on time, with full days of photography. I fully recommend Remote Expeditions for your photographic travels!
