The Los Tarrales Reserve extends from the lowlands at 750 m (2,460 ft) to the summit of the volcano at 3,500 m (11,480 ft), encompassing a remarkable diversity of habitats that support more than 360 recorded bird species. Today, we will travel by 4x4 along a dirt road to the higher section of Finca Los Tarrales (El Vesubio sector), where the lush cloud forest provides excellent opportunities to observe high-elevation bird species along its scenic trails. After a rewarding morning of birdwatching, we will return to the lodge in the afternoon.
